comp colors reflection

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images?

Originally I wanted to use blue because it’s my favorite color but the sky was cloudy these past days so I had to use other colors. I saw the lockers were purple and Vadim was wearing a yellow jacket and I knew I wanted to take that picture. Then I saw red and green from a distance and went up closer and saw a red flower with the green leafs.

How did you incorporate the two complementary color into your photos?

I put the complementary colors right next to each other to show how they are complementary.

What blending methods did you use in Photoshop?

I didn’t use photo shop

What did the addition of complementary colors do for your images?

It made the images pop and they were very vibrant and the colors look really good next to each other.

What moods or emotions stood out as a result of enhancing the complementary colors?

The purple and yellow had an energetic vibe to it and they are very vibrant. The flower one reminds me of Christmas.

Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or Lightroom?

I was able to make the colors pop out more and to show their vibrancy more.

How well do your final images show the complementary colors?

I think they show them really well.

What did you learn about color theory as a result of working on this project?

Do you think your photos tell a good story?

I think so because the flower image shows how over time something beautiful is created.

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?

Have it be sunny outside so I can use blue.

What are you most proud of?

Turning these in pretty quickly.

diptych reflection

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images?

This was probably my least favorite project because I didn’t have any ideas for the longest time and it took me a long time to finish these. I took pictures of headphones representing different ways to listen to music and a picture of cars showing how they are similar yet different at the same time.

How did the similarities and or differences between your two subjects inform how you were able to shoot and edit the photos?

For the cars the similarity is the make and model and the only difference is the color of the car and for the headphones they are both ways of listening to music just the overhead headphones are more traditional.

Do the two things have more in common or more differences.  Is the viewer able to discern what the differences or similarities are without explanation?

I think they have more in common because for the cars the only difference is the color besides that they are pretty much identical. For the headphones I think they are more different. I say this because one was designed 2 years ago and the others have been around for over a decade. The only similarity is that they both play music.

How did you use the principles and elements to show the differences or similarities (think scale, contrast, pattern, framing, line, etc.)

For the car they are aligned to show that they are the same. For the headphones one of them is much smaller. This shows how over the years technology becomes more advanced and compact and how things a decade old are so big compared to the modern world.

Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or Lightroom?

I didn’t.

How well do your final images reflect the differences or similarities?

They reflect well I think.

What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the differences without being explicitly told?

Edit them right by each other so the differences and similarities are visible

What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project?

This was hard.

Do you think your photos tell a good story?

I think the headphones one does because it shows how things change over time but with the same goal, which is playing music.

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?

Spend more time and not be absent a couple days.

What are you most proud of?

Finally finishing this challenge.

juxtaposition

I plan on shooting pictures of someone showing their true side and a side where they are sad or down. For another photo I plan on shooting a picture of an air pod in one ear and earbuds in another. They both are ways of listening to music but there is a difference in them.

catch up week reflection

  1. How well were you able to reach the goals you made at the start of the week?

I reached all my goals during the week.

  1. What did you accomplish? What weren’t you able to get done?

I accomplished finishing the video. I didn’t finish the reflections during the week because my program crashed like twice so I had to restart my video.

  1. What new skills were you able to learn this week?

I learned how to use Adobe Premiere and how to connect photos to audio and use transitions and effects to make it look smoother.

  1. How many people were you able to help this week?

I helped out Vadim, Danny and Ghena with some minor things here and there through tout the week.

  1. How much better is your grade today than it was on Monday?

It increased about 7% and that’s really good because I was close to a C but now I am close to an A-

multimedia reflection

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create your portrait image?

I had to record the audio first then after that I needed to take pictures to match with the audio. It took longer than expected and the make up week was really nice to have.

How did you incorporate aspects of the subject’s personality into the photograph?

I took pictures around the school that matched the personality of Vadim and I think I did a good job of that.

How did you select the questions for the interview?

I wanted to ask questions that I can take pictures of at school. I wanted to ask questions that weren’t too long or too short.

What was the process like of listening to the audio and choosing which pictures to make based on that interview?

I liked it and it felt like I was making a Youtube video and I think I would love to do this more.

Do you feel like the other photos in the slideshow also capture the essence of the person you photographed?

I think so because all the photos show some part of him.

What was your experience like working in Adobe Premiere?

I enjoyed it a lot more than Photoshop and I love creating short videos now.

What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project?

I learned that pictures can tell a story, and pictures together can create a whole

Do you think your photo tells a good story?

I think it shows the story of an average high schooler.

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?

I would spend more time on the transitions and effects to make them match the audio perfectly.
What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of how I got the hang of the program so quick unlike Photoshop

Famous Quote reflection

How did the sketch of your famous quote image differ from the final version?

The final version didn’t have a key and it was a different angle of the car

How well did the font of the text and the effects you created connect to the mood of the photograph?

I couldn’t use a cursive font because I don’t think it suits the picture well so I just used a thin font.

How well is the quote reflected in the image?

The quote talks about joy and for me cars bring joy so I think it reflects good

How did the sketch help you make the final image?

It gave me an idea of what to take a picture of but I couldn’t take what I sketched because I didn’t have the keys at the time

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?

Make my picture exactly like the sketch

What are you most proud of ?

The picture turned out very crisp

Trading card reflection

How did the sketch of your trading card image differ from the final version?

I used real images and edited them in instead of drawing them

What did you learn about the other people in your group?

I learned that we are pretty similar

What was the subject’s reaction to the card you made?

They thought it was pretty accurate and they liked it

How did the sketch help you make the final image?

It gave me a good template to go off of

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?

I would spend more time on photo shop to get the hang of it better

What are you most proud of ?

I’m most proud of my sketch because I think it came out better than the final and I enjoy drawing

1/30/19

  1. I think it will be easy to recreate the photo because I know the person pretty well and I don’t need new information.
  2. Car keys, Snowboard, Brown hoodie
  3. I will need my partner to show up with all of their things so I could recreate the photo
  4. Either at home or somewhere by a car because he will need to bring a snowboard
  5. I can take one picture of each thing and edit it together or take one picture with everything already in it.
  6. I couldn’t find a good example of what I am imagining.
